Meliora Bio is based in Kalundborg and upcycles biomass to new and innovative products. Through our work, we show a way forward within sustainable production and positive impact for consumers and environment.

Who We Are

Meliora Bio is a modern state of the art biorefinery upcycling straw for prebiotics, bioethanol, and lignin. The refinery was built by Ørsted in 2009 and was bought by Torque, an investment company owned by the Ree Family, in 2020. Since then, the plant has undergone several major reconstructions and expansions to efficiently produce advanced, second-generation bioethanol and innovative food ingredients.
